"One Hundred Years of Summertime"
In Celebration of National Black History Month, please join us to hear Dr. Kendra Hamilton, Associate Professor and Director of Southern Studies at Presbyterian College, deliver a program on the inspiration in Charleston for the novel "Porgy" written by DuBose Heyward in 1925, and later, the play “Porgy & Bess”. In the 100 years since the story was written, it has greatly impacted Black Culture in SC and beyond. The title of the program is "One Hundred Years of Summertime"
